سُورَةُ المزمل
al-Muzzammil— The Enshrouded One
Notes & justification
The wāw of أَوِ meets the sākin nūn of ٱنقُصْ. Where the third letter of the following word carries an obligatory ḍammah (the qāf of ٱنقُصْ), all read the first sākin with ḍammah — أَوُ ٱنقُصْ — except those coded in فِي نَدٍ (ʿĀṣim and Ḥamzah), who break the meeting with a kasrah as Ḥafṣ does. The second Shāṭibiyyah fragment lists قُلِ ادْعُوا، أَوِ انْقُصْ، قَالَتِ among the words the rule covers; the third says Abū ʿAmr (ibn al-ʿAlāʾ) follows the kasrah everywhere except in أَوْ and قُلْ, where he takes the ḍammah.
Your ḍamm of the first of two sākins, for a third letter whose ḍamm is obligatory — its kasr is sweet in nadin (ʿĀṣim, Ḥamzah).
qul-idʿū, aw-inquṣ, qālati … (the places the rule covers).
except aw and qul, for Ibn al-ʿAlāʾ (Abū ʿAmr) …
