This site sets the Qurʾān in all ten canonical readings, by the paths of al-Shāṭibiyyah and al-Durrah al-Muḍiyyah. Ḥafṣ ʿan ʿĀṣim carries the text on the top line and every divergence of the other readings is aligned directly beneath it, word under word — with each reader’s uṣūl a click away and the order of recitation (jamʿ) built into the page.
How the readings are shown
A row appears only where a reader departs from the top line, so an absent row is a statement: that reader agrees with Ḥafṣ here. The number of rows changes from verse to verse.
Where a reader’s two transmitters usually agree, one row names the reader (Ibn Kathīr, al-Kisāʾī, Abū Jaʿfar, Yaʿqūb, Khalaf al-ʿĀshir); where they often differ, each transmitter has his own (Qālūn/Warsh, al-Dūrī/al-Sūsī, Hishām/Ibn Dhakwān, Shuʿbah/Ḥafṣ, Khalaf/Khallād). Fourteen comparison rows in all.
The green numerals are the order of recitation: where each pass of the jamʿ resumes. The rule names beneath the words, the coloured letters, and the small muṣḥaf marks (the sakt س, the tanwīn-naql nūn, the badal lengths) all point at the exact letters they govern.
How the text was assembled
The Ḥafṣ line on top of every table is the standard ʿUthmānī text, generated from a digital muṣḥaf — 6,236 āyāt — rather than typed by hand.
Everything else — which readers diverge, at which word, with what wording, and the notes behind them — is collated by hand, verse by verse, and cross-checked against independent sources for the riwāyāt. That work is ongoing, and the site only shows verses that have actually been collated. A verse marked needs review has not yet been checked a second time.
Recitations
The site is built to carry one recitation per transmission, verse by verse, so the same āyah can be heard in each reading while following the aligned text. The playback controls are already in place and sit inert until recordings are registered.
