Minor connection

ۥۦ

الصلة الصغرى

al-ṣilah al-ṣughrā

The third-person suffix ـهُ / ـهِ, when it falls between two vowelled letters, is followed by a short glide: a w after ḍammah, a y after kasrah. Held two counts, this is the 'minor' connection.

Example

إِنَّهُۥ

passim

The superscript ۥ marks the glide.
